Everything I make is thrown on the potters wheel
I draw all of my imagery on my ipad
I burn my drawings into a silkscreen
I screen print with an underglaze mixture onto newsprint.
I end up with sheets and sheets of prints!!!
They then need to be cut out directly on the line of the print
I get my prints wet and begin layering them on the pot.
This part is pretty intuitive, coming up with composition on the spot.
Then I peel off each print.
I do all of my surface decorations on greenware, when the clay is the most fragile. After they are printed on they get fired in the kiln to 1945 degrees. Once they get out I put a clear glaze on them and put them back in the kiln to be fired to 2200 degrees!
